Six Sentence Sunday (3/25) ~ In It To Win It

Welcome back, Sixers!

Once again, today's Six comes from my contemporary romance,
(Deadlines & Diamonds, #2)

In this piece of the story, Sportscaster, Jane Alexander
finds herself standing in front of Grayson Pierce
a little more exposed than she's comfortable.

He tugged her to him and the towel pooled around her feet. He grinned, his dark eyes sparkling, and with large, muscular hands, he eased her against him, holding her close against his rock hard body. He smelled good; clean and male and … mouth-watering.
The corners of his mouth lifted and tiny lines appeared around his eyes. As if he needed any more help being sexy.
Being so close to Grayson brought back every insecurity she’d ever felt. And she’d never been so aroused.

IN IT TO WIN IT is currently available via Kindle, Nook
other ebook as well as Paperback

People look for luck in many places...

at the end of a rainbow

in a Leprechaun's hat

rubbing a rabbit's foot

picking up a shiny penny

I know a lot of people think of the number 13 as unlucky,
but I consider it
a very LUCKY number!

Word has it an upcoming Rockets player will have 13 on his back.

And some people are just looking to
get "lucky"!

In my paranormal short story,
THE SEDUCTION OF DAMIAN,
Damian has a "lucky" experience of his own.
The lipstick tube she held up in triumph was as orange as the makeup it contained. She rubbed it over her lips, making the line much higher than her actual lip. A circus clown would have been proud. When she smiled her dingy, yellow teeth had a complimentary orange shadow.
“Um, if you’ll excuse me,” he begged her, “I’m just going to—”
“Slip into something more comfortable?” Her nasally giggle made every hair on his body stand on end, waving tiny white flags of surrender.
“Yeah, something like that.”
“I could help you.”
He swallowed the bile that rose in the back of his throat. “That’s okay, I can manage.”
His feet couldn’t move fast enough as he retreated to his bedroom. His feet ate up the stairs, taking them three at a time. Fighting the urge to slam the door, he instead fumbled with the lock, hoping she wouldn’t try to follow him. He prayed she’d left her wand at home—with the rest of her clothes. He paused, freezing the breath in his lungs, and listened. When only silence answered from the other side of the door he sighed.
Rummaging through the dresser, he pulled out an armful of underwear and dumped it on the bed. He jammed a foot into some very unattractive tighty-whities, his toe getting stuck on the hem. He hopped around until he freed his wayward appendage, nearly ripping out the seam to do so. A quick cup of his hand to arrange things down below, he pulled on some boxer-briefs, completing the armament with an additional pair of boxers. With his genitals safely hidden beneath three layers of cotton, he reached for a pair of jeans.
Levi’s, not Lucky’s.
No one would be getting ‘lucky’ in this house tonight!

Six Sentence Sunday (3/18) ~ In It To Win It

Welcome, Sixers!

Today's Six comes from my contemporary romance,
(Deadlines & Diamonds, #2)

Sportscaster Jane Alexander is in the Rockets' locker room,
trying to do her job, when she gets a little distracted.

He waded through the crowd straight toward them. Jane gulped and ignored the fact that he’d taken off his jersey. His navy uniform pants were so low on his hips she wondered if his cheeks would show if he turned around. His abs were damp with sweat and Jane felt the sudden urge to trace them with her tongue.
Which was absurd … because she hated him.
Grayson’s eyes met hers and he lifted a brow.

Fade to Black is #FREE today.

Today, Saturday, March 17th
(Deadlines & Diamonds #1)
is FREE!

Excerpt:
Kate Callahan had seen Rich Spencer hundreds of times over the last two years. But never before had she seen him as anything more than the man with a camera on his shoulder. The competition.
But today, she finally saw him. Really saw him.
Light brown hair that looked as though he’d just stepped out of a windstorm. He had a toned physique, under his cream sweater and loose-fitting jeans. And his eyes….
Kate swallowed hard.
His eyes were the color of the Caribbean Ocean sparkling in the bright sun. She shook her head, trying to rid her mind of the sudden urge to skinny-dip in the salty water.
The tropical waters focused on Kate’s face for only a moment before roaming slowly over her body as though she stood before him without a stitch on. His lips pulled at the corners, forming a sexy, knowing smile.

Siobhan Muir stops by to talk about HER DEVOTED VAMPIRE

Morgan's Musings is giddy to be able to welcome Siobhan Muir.
(Author Morgan Kearns, Ruth Lacy, Author Siobhan Muir
I met Siobhan last June at Arizona Dreamin' 2011.
We became fast friends and I just love her!
She has a new book and I want to introduce both of them to you.

*****
Hello Siobhan, I'm glad you were able to stop by for a few minutes to discuss HER DEVOTED VAMPIRE. I'm really excited to catch up with Frederick and Bridgette. But first, I'd like to talk a little about you.

Do you prefer Cats or Dogs? Cats, definitely cats. The best dogs are the skulls I have around the house. ;) Ha! I'll make sure to keep Gus safely away from your house...lol :)

Okay, let's talk books. What do you do when you're not writing? I actually do research in the field of paleontology. My specialty is fossil canids (dogs, wolves, foxes, and coyotes) and I often spend some time identifying the teeth for other paleontologists (see why I like dead dogs?). ;) Very cool! And yes, I understand now. No offense, but I'm going to still keep an eye on you around Gus. *wink*

When did you write your first story? I wrote my first story in 6th grade for a teacher who said we could make a book. It was called “The Phoenix and the Girl.” Guess what it was about? ;) I even got to illustrate it. The Phoenix was actually a gigantic drawing of a sparrow that I traced from somewhere and I don’t remember what I used for the “girl”. I think I have copy of it around here somewhere. That's awesome. You really should dig it out.

What genre do you prefer to read? My first love was science-fiction/fantasy and my library is full of my favorites. I’ve written several stories in that genre. But after my husband gave me a paranormal romance, which combines romance and sci-fi/fantasy, I was a goner. ;) HA! The best of both worlds. Love it!

Okay, so please, please, please tell the people about your awesome new book.

The story of Bridget Shanahan and Fredrick MacGregor came about when I wondered what it would be liked to be kidnapped by a really sexy guy, when he thought he was rescuing me. How would I react? How would he react to my hostility? Her Devoted Vampire came from those questions.

Here is the blurb:

Bridget doesn't believe in vampires or werewolves, but that doesn't stop one from kidnapping her.

BRIDGET SHANAHAN’S life seems bleak and boring until she gets mugged and abducted from her favorite coffee shop by the sexiest man she’s ever met. Unfortunately, he’s a lunatic who believes he’s some kind of vampire savior surrounded by a security force of werewolves and he’s determined to keep her.

FREDRICK MACGREGOR has been having visions of this woman in danger for the last six months, a woman he must protect because she’s the Avatar of the Goddess. However, when he brings her home, she doesn’t believe he's a vampire or that she is the Avatar, and she definitely doesn't want to stay. But the sense of danger persists and he'll do anything to keep her safe, even if it means risking the loss of the only woman who makes his endless life bearable again.

LOVE THAT!

Ah...The art of flirting.
For some its an easy concept.
For others its excruciating.

Flirting can be as easy as

 a look

a wink

a smile

 or a cheesy pick-up line:
"Is your daddy a thief? 'Cause he stole
the stars from the sky and put 'em in your eyes."

Yes, I actually did get that line way back when.
More recently, while wearing the shirt below, I had a guy say,
"Hey, did you know you have Grease on your shirt?"

It took me a second to figure out what he was talking about.
When I did, I laughed, got in the car, called Husband
and we laughed together. Every time I wear it now, Husband makes sure to remind me that I have Grease on my shirt.

I am Morgan Kearns.
I write Contemporary and Paranormal Romance.
In my newest release, HEART ACHE
Nikolai needs lessons on how to flirt with Gabby.

“I would love nothing more than to take you right here, right now. To have the scent of your sex forever stained on the leather…” He groaned; a completely masculine, guttural sound. He ran the tip of his nose up her neck, sniffing as he went.
Her entire body reacted; her blood heated to molten lava and everywhere else turned liquid. She had to bite her tongue to keep from offering herself up to him.
“But I really have work to do.”

 Or does he?
