Six Sentence Sunday (11/18) ~ LUCKY 13

Today's Six comes
from my brand new release,
LUCKY 13
(Deadlines & Diamonds, #4).

In this section, Shayne Xavier pushes
Enrique Santiago a little too far.

Ricky’s lips brushed her ear. “And it’s a damn good thing he’s here at all, because you makin’ little noises, teasin’ me like you are, he’s the only thing keepin’ me from pushin’ up against the backstop and kissin’ the holy hell out of you.”
Instead of a warning, his words sent a shot of disappointment through her. She dropped her arm, the bat coming to rest next to her leg.
“You know, you make me want to do very bad things.” She shook her head.
LUCKY 13 is currently available via Kindle, Nook, other Ebook and in Paperback.

Six Sentence Sunday (7/22) ~ Out of Left Field

Welcome back, Sixers!

Today's Six once again come from my brand new release
(Deadlines & Diamonds, #3)

In this segment, Team Doc, Frankie Holden is confronting
Matthias Xavier about his shoulder.

“I can’t fix stupid.”
He was about ready to tell her where she could stick her attitude when she sighed.
“I am here to help you, Xavier. If you have an issue with your shoulder, you know as well as I do it needs to be addressed. But if you’re too stupid to admit it, then I guess there’s nothing I can do about it.”
“Like I said, I’m fine.”

Six Sentence Sunday (7/15) ~ Out of Left Field

Welcome back, Sixers!

Today's Six comes from my newest release
(Deadlines & Diamonds, #3)

Baseball MVP, Matthias Xavier has an injured shoulder
and seems to think hiding it is the best solution.
Team Doc, Frankie Holden confronts him.

“A little bird mentioned you might need to talk to me.”

“Did this damn big stool pigeon look anything like Pierce?”

She rolled her eyes. “He only mentioned your shoulder might be bothering you. Is it?”

“I’m fine.”

Six Sentence Sunday (7/8) ~ Out of Left Field

Welcome Sixers!
Today's Six comes from my brand new release
(Deadlines & Diamonds, #3)

These are the very first six sentences of the novel...
Snap, crackle, pop.
Matthias Xavier enjoyed that particular combination of sound when it came from a cereal bowl, but coming from his shoulder … not so much.
He ground his teeth, closed his eyes, and pushed the weight bar toward the sky. Focusing on the burn in his pecs, he relished the subtle pain telling him the exercise accomplished something. The pain in his shoulder accomplished nothing, except an assload of ache he’d sure as hell pay for tonight.
He knew he wouldn’t be able to hide his weakness for much longer, but exposing himself meant … well, exposing himself.

Six Sentence Sunday (3/25) ~ In It To Win It

Welcome back, Sixers!

Once again, today's Six comes from my contemporary romance,
(Deadlines & Diamonds, #2)

In this piece of the story, Sportscaster, Jane Alexander
finds herself standing in front of Grayson Pierce
a little more exposed than she's comfortable.

He tugged her to him and the towel pooled around her feet. He grinned, his dark eyes sparkling, and with large, muscular hands, he eased her against him, holding her close against his rock hard body. He smelled good; clean and male and … mouth-watering.
The corners of his mouth lifted and tiny lines appeared around his eyes. As if he needed any more help being sexy.
Being so close to Grayson brought back every insecurity she’d ever felt. And she’d never been so aroused.

Six Sentence Sunday (3/18) ~ In It To Win It

Welcome, Sixers!

Today's Six comes from my contemporary romance,
(Deadlines & Diamonds, #2)

Sportscaster Jane Alexander is in the Rockets' locker room,
trying to do her job, when she gets a little distracted.

He waded through the crowd straight toward them. Jane gulped and ignored the fact that he’d taken off his jersey. His navy uniform pants were so low on his hips she wondered if his cheeks would show if he turned around. His abs were damp with sweat and Jane felt the sudden urge to trace them with her tongue.
Which was absurd … because she hated him.
Grayson’s eyes met hers and he lifted a brow.

Six Sentence Sunday (2/12) ~ Heart Ache

Welcome back, Sixers!

We're revisiting Nikolai and Gabby from my newest release, HEART ACHE
In this snippet, Gabby has just asked Nikolai to call her Gabrielle and to ... use his accent.

*****

She stood and took a step away.
Nikolai jumped to his feet, grabbed her arm, and spun her around so she faced him. He looked deep into her eyes, capturing her complete attention. Neither of them breathed for a few seconds. Nikolai leaned forward until his lips were right at her ear.
       “Anything you want, sweet Gabrielle.”

Six Sentence Sunday (1/22) ~ Heart Ache

Welcome Back, Sixers!

We're visiting Nikolai and Gabrielle again today.
HEART ACHE comes out THIS WEEK!

In today's snippet, Nikolai anticipates her return to work.

*****

He needed her like a drowning man needed air! His entire life had fallen apart in the time she’d been recovering from the flu. This morning alone, he’d nearly climbed into the damned filing cabinet and still couldn’t find the file he needed. He slammed the drawer and scanned his office for where he should search next.
Thump-thump.
Thump-thump.

Six Sentence Sunday (1/15) ~ Heart Ache

Good Morning, Sixers!

Today's Six comes from HEART ACHE, due out January 24th.

As with last week, Gabrielle is still sick. Blech! Poor girl.
Nikolai has served her the soup he brought and is now preparing to leave.

*****

“I can see myself out. Rest well, Gabrielle.”
Walking out of her apartment was torture, plain and simple. He paused in the hall and stared at her closed door. Running his hand over the cool metal he wished he could go back inside. Instead he walked away, anticipating the dead feeling that accompanied their separation.

Six Sentence Sunday (1/8) ~ Heart Ache

Today's Six comes from HEART ACHE
scheduled release January 24, 2012.

Nikolai is a vampire and Gabby is his heartmate,
the one female capable of filling the ache that's lingered in his chest for 400 years.

In this snippet, Gabby is sick and Nikolai being Nikolai stops by to bring her some soup.

*****

“How are you feeling?” He stared into her bloodshot eyes, noting her red nose, and wild disarray of curls barely contained by a rubber band.
Did she have any idea how adorable she was?
She coughed, sneezed … and farted. Her blush from earlier was nothing compared to the crimson she sported now.
       “Excuse me.”

Six Sentence Sunday (11/6) ~ Out of Left Field

Welcome back, Sixers!

You can thank NaNoWriMo for this week's pick.

For NaNo I'm writing a follow-up to In It To Win It
The working title is Out of Left Field and the hero is certainly an unlikely one.

When writing WIN I never would have thought
Xavier, Jerk Extraordinaire,
could be a character I'd want to know more about.

But the more I get to know Matthais Xavier III,
the more I fall in love with him.

These are the first six sentences in the story... Enjoy!
Snap, crackle, pop was a great combination of sound when it came from a cereal bowl, but coming from a guy’s shoulder … not so much.
Xavier ground his teeth together. He closed his eyes, pushing the weight bar toward the sky. Focusing on the burn in his pecs, he relished the subtle pain that told him the exercise was accomplishing something. The pain in his shoulder was accomplishing nothing, except an assload of ache he’d sure as hell pay for tonight.
He knew he wouldn’t be able to hide his weakness for much longer, but exposing himself meant … well, exposing himself.

If you haven't met Grayson yet, he can be found in IN IT TO WIN IT
via Kindle, Nook, & other ebook

Six Sentence Sunday (10/30)

Welcome Back, Sixers!
Today's six comes from my paranormal short story
The Seduction of Damian
(The Gossip of Mysterious Lane #1)
currently available via Kindle, Nook, and other ebook.

In this snippet, Damian comes face to face
with the first female determined to make
Paranormal Partner's Most Eligible Bachelor hers...

*****

A smile spread to her thin, barely-there lips as a nervous, nasally giggle burst into the air between them.

“Actually, Damian, I’m here to help you.” Her attempted purr sounded more like a strangled cat’s yowl.

“Oh?” His dangly bits shriveled. Good hell, why hadn’t he put on some clothes?

The Seduction of Damian
(The Gossip of Mysterious Lane #1)
currently available via Kindle, Nook, & other ebook
In this snippet, Damian's friend Jocelyn is helping him cope with his new title of Paranormal Partner's most eligible bachelor.
*****

“I’m your friend, which means my job is to keep your feet firmly planted on the ground and your head small enough to fit through the door. You’re right; I’m sure it won’t be long before females are lined up around the block waiting to stroke your ego.”
“Not funny.”
She kept talking right over him. “If you ask, I’ll bet they’d stroke other things for you, too.”

Six Sentence Sunday (10/9)

Welcome to my Six Sentence Sunday!

Today's snippet comes from my contemporary romance
IN IT TO WIN IT.

Sportscaster Jane Alexander is about to come face to face
with baseball's notorious badboy Grayson Pierce.
He's arrogant. He's goodlooking. He's the jerk who broke her heart!

***

Grayson waded through the crowd straight toward them. Jane gulped and ignored the fact that he’d taken off his jersey. His navy uniform pants were so low on his hips she wondered if his cheeks would show if he turned around. His abs were damp with sweat and Jane felt the sudden urge to trace them with her tongue.

Six Sentence Sunday (10/2)

This week's Six Sentences come from my new release,
His Destiny is Karma (The Gossip of Mysterious Lane #2).

Meet Vampire Playboy Alexander.

He's trying to explain to his flavor of the moment
why she needs to get out of his bed.

She huffed, clearly annoyed. “What is the big crisis?”
“Relationship stuff.” Like marriage. Alex couldn’t think of a greater crisis than being tied down to a single female. He shuddered.

Six Sentence Sunday (9/18)

This week's Six Sentences come
from my Contemporary Romance,

Sportscaster Jane Alexander is sitting in a bar at the airport,
waiting for her flight. When her purse moves off the stool next to her,
she reaches out to rescue it from the would-be thief and...

...a warm hand covered hers. She looked up into eyes that were way too familiar.
"Grayson," she breathed.
He looked better than she'd ever seen him, dressed in black Armani with a starched white shirt underneath. The first couple of buttons were opened, exposing the tanned flesh of his throat. She gulped.

And his eyes…. Kate swallowed hard. His eyes were the color of the Caribbean Ocean sparkling in the bright sun. She shook her head, trying to rid her mind of the sudden urge to go skinny-dipping in the salty water.

The tropical waters focused on Kate’s face for only a moment before roaming slowly over her body as though she stood before the group without a stitch on. His lips pulled at the corners, forming a sexy, knowing smile.

Today's six sentences come from my upcoming title
Karma is a Vampire (The Gossip of Mysterious Lane #2)

What goes around really does come around—just to kick a male in the balls and bite him in the ass. Vampire playboy Alexander stood smack dab in the middle of the cosmic crosshairs and didn’t even know it.

“When will you be back?” A feminine pout.

“Don’t worry, doll. I’ll call when I get home.”

Six Sentence Sunday (8/28)

Today's Six Sentences come from my Contemporary Romance
In It To Win It
currently available on Kindle, Nook, other ebook

Closing her eyes and sucking in a deep breath, she reminded herself that Grayson Pierce and his opinions no longer mattered. That hell called high school had been fifteen years ago. But she’d be damned if those scars didn’t take eons to heal.
“…and a home run by Pierce brings in three! Rockets win by two.”
Cheers and applause erupted, nearly shaking the walls of the stadium. The enthusiasm was enough to make Jane want to vomit.
